Susan was a "tough old broad" (no disrespect intended), especially considering she couldn't swallow or sip from a straw six weeks before her passing, but she rebounded a bit and continued to fight the good fight and God gave her a few extra weeks with us. I'm sure she was grateful that she had that additional time to say, "I love you" to many. She was a great sister all my life and even did some fighting on my behalf whenever a bully would come along. When she was committed to something or someone, she was a great friend and support and put her all into it. I am so happy to have had her on my side in my life. To all who contacted our family in any way. Thank you. Your prayers, presence, thoughts, well-wishes, flowers, hugs, smiles, tears, likes, and general attention toward us as we have navigated this difficult time have warmed our hearts and comforted our souls. Our deepest gratitude to you all for your support, caring and sustaining. We have certainly felt the grace and love of God through it all. It was amazing to me to see so many of our friends and family at the memorial. But, I am truly humbled by those who never met Susan, but were there supporting each of us in our family. I am so thankful for those comforting words assuring that when we die we return "to that God who gave us life". I love the way he loves. I look forward to seeing you again, Susan. "Love ya more."
My deepest condolences for your loss. The bible calls death an enemy and when it takes those we love, it truly is.
Rest assured that God has given a beautiful hope at Jo 5:28,29 where He will remember our dead loved ones and will bring them back to life on earth so they can enjoy living forever. Ps 37:11,29.
One day God will wipe away all tears and death and pain will be no more.
I hope these promises will bring you comfort.
