We at Groveland Baptist Church are so blessed to know Wayne as part of our church family. He was certainly an inspiration to me as I watched him fight the battle with ca and when he was told there was nothing more they could do for him. He would say I know where I'm going-to see my maker- and kept on smoking. I'm glad that I got meet his wonderful son Carl and was able to care for Snowflake so he could travel to Tampa to be with his family as his journey was coming to a end.

Mary and I are very saddened at the loss of Wayne. While we know he is at the right hand of the Father and rejoicing with his family, we will certainly miss him. Wayne was a wonderful and caring person in life and his spirit lives on within all of us. We pray for peace for all remaining family in this difficult time and know that all the great shared memories can never be taken from us.

When I joined FPOA in 2002, Wayne was one of the experienced umpires that taught me the basic skills and mechanics. Over the years we also did some real estate transactions together, including finding his own little piece of the country in Clermont. An honorable and good man...he will be missed. RIP
